Lincoln Lutheran has announced the hiring of Makayla Tepe as the school’s next head volleyball coach.

Tepe brings extensive experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. She has spent the past six seasons as head coach at Crete High School, where she led the program and built a strong competitive foundation.

Prior to her time at Crete, Tepe served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha for two years, where she also earned her Master of Science in Educational Leadership. Before joining UNO, she spent one season as the Director of Volleyball Operations at San Diego State University.

In addition to her school coaching experience, Tepe has been deeply involved in club volleyball for more than a decade with Volleyball Club Nebraska, helping develop athletes across multiple age levels.

A native of Scottsbluff, Tepe was a four-sport athlete in high school, lettering in volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer. She continued her volleyball career at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.

Lincoln Lutheran officials expressed excitement about welcoming Tepe to the program, noting that her background, leadership experience, and commitment to developing student-athletes make her well prepared to lead the Warriors into the future.
