Let Us Vote is a petition drive launched by the Nebraska Family Alliance. The purpose is to collect enough signatures to require the Lincoln City Council to rescind a current city ordinance regarding gender identity or put it to a vote by the citizens of Lincoln. It is important for schools like Lincoln Lutheran to guard its rights regarding issues of Biblical Truth, of which gender identity is one. Follow this link to the Nebraska Family Alliance website for a detailed explanation of this issue. The link also has details about how to find a petition to sign for anyone who'd like to participate. Many of our area churches have chosen to be a point to collect signatures, so you may want to check with your congregation to see if they have the petitions available. The deadline to sign is February 28.
